The essence of the CORE Program

"Dr. Bill Farney (UIL), Dr. Charles Breithaupt (UIL), and I were invited by the Dallas Orthopedic Center to witness first-hand the CORE program designed and being used by Corey Eaton in selected pilot programs in the metro-plex area. We were highly impressed with the proven results and the potential the program has in the prevention of ACL injuries. I would encourage all coaches to take advantage of this revolutionary prevention program for ACL injuries in female athletes."

- Sam Tipton, Executive Director of the Texas Girls Coaches Association
The CORE Program begins with a detailed pre-screening of each athlete to identify core deficiencies to help customize proper core training. Video analysis will be utilized as part of this screening process.

The initial goal is to establish a strong core stability foundation in each athlete through a series of progressively challenging exercises on the stability ball. After this foundation is built, a training program that emphasizes jump skills, agility and plyometrics is implemented. The final phase of the program emphasizes a sport-specific core training regimen that combines the benefits of jump training and deceleration training with core exercises that help the athlete, particularly females, optimize landing position and athletic posture to reduce injury rates and improve athletic performance.

A core stability scoring system has been developed and scores will be recorded pre- and post- program to measure progress. Additionally, athletic performance parameters including 40 yard dash time, vertical jump height and standing broad jump length will be recorded pre- and post- program to assess improvement.

High school programs will be conducted at the team's school and, working closely with team coaches, will be incorporated into team practice sessions.

Group programs at our facility can be customized but generally will be held three times a week for six weeks. Each session lasts one hour.
